This morning, Jason and I were running together here in Anacortes. (We came here last night to surprise Jason's mom for her birthday today.) As we were running, I told Jason that on many a run in the last couple of months, I've tried to pray for you. Sometimes I've had a good sense of what to pray for and what to focus on, and other days I'm not sure if I am on target. But I simply lift you up to God holding you up to the light each time.
Anyway, I asked Jason what he has noticed in your character that we could continue to pray for God to continue to grow. I wish I'd been able to record it because it was so good and rich what he said. I'll do the best to remember all the things he said.
Here are a few words from your godfather:
- Liam is fair-minded. He is able to take another perspective when navigating situations with others and tries to see things from someone else's point of view.
- Liam is a hard worker-- whether it has to do with basketball or soccer or school projects, he gives it his all, and he is fun to watch in his determination and focus.
- Liam is empathetic. He takes into consideration the feelings of others and has a kind heart.
Liam is enthusiastic. He has energy and helps others rally to have a great time.
We love the things we see growing in you and
pray that they will continue to flourish.
(Jason is nothing like this godfather in this old classic (and creepy) movie,
but I thought that the picture and the reference were funny.)
